Teacher
Swap Program
Teacher Swap, Inc., an international home exchange program, was
specifically designed for teachers. The organization operates by
publishing a directory three times a year, in which it lists "subscribers"
who are interested in arranging a home swap wit other educators
(the listings provide originating locale as well as desired swap
location). Subscribers are responsible for coordinating exchanges.
The program offers three options: simultaneous home exchange, swap
of "bed and breakfast" courtesies (hosting a colleague at your home
and later visiting him/her at his/hers), and accommodations for
a fee. Subscribers are not obligated to subscribe each year, and
a previous year's listing is discontinued unless the subscriber
re-enrolls. As such, the listings in each directory are "fresh,"
including only those who are interested in traveling and would like
to swap homes with fellow educators. To subscribe, there is a single
yearly fee; the cost for the first year is $42; for any year after
that, the fee is $32.
